Delaware reports two new deaths from COVID-19 over holiday weekend

The latest coronavirus number are in for Delaware reflecting deaths and potive cases from Saturday, Dece,ber 26, 2020.

Two more people have died from COVID-19 in Delaware.

The State’s latest summary reflects data as of Saturday. 

Regarding the latest deaths, one individual was from New Castle County and the other was from Sussex County. They ranged in age from their 50’s to their 70’s and both had underlying health conditions. 

Their deaths increased Delaware’s total number of COVID-related deaths to 897. 

There were also 572 new positive cases of coronavirus on Saturday - bringing the overall total to 55,057; 31,697 of the positive cases have been in New Castle County; 8,771 of the positive cases have been in Kent County and 14,458 of the positive cases have been in Sussex County.

403 people remain hospitalized in Delaware, up 3 from last Friday - Christmas Day. And 64 people remain in critical condition.
