2019 'Stuff the Bus' campaign starts Monday

It’s that time again - DART’s annual, week-long, “Stuff the Bus” Thanksgiving Food Drive kicks off on Monday:

This is the 22nd year for “Stuff the Bus.”

Last year’s event brought in 10.2 tons or 20,463 pounds of food for the Food Bank of Delaware. And DART First State marketing specialist Patty Boyd says this year they have an even bigger goal, “Our goal is to collect 20-tons of food for Delawareans who are in need of food assistance.”

She says DART buses will visit seven locations statewide next week so the public can help DART achieve its goal, “Monday we will be at the Acme on Coastal Highway (Rt 1) in Rehoboth. Tuesday we are at two locations - the Milford Walmart and the Dover Safeway. And then after that we move up to New Castle County; Wednesday the 13th we’re at the ShopRite in Stanton; Thursday we’re at Rodney Square (in Wilmington) and Friday we’re at the ShopRight in Brandywine Commons.”

Boyd says the final location will be at the ShopRite at Four Seasons Plaza in Glasgow on Saturday, November 16, 2019.

She adds that once all the non-perishable food is collected, the Food Bank of Delaware will distribute donations through its Hunger Relief Partners to state residents in need of food assistance.
