The University of Delaware men’s soccer team is one and done in the NCAA tournament.

The Blue Hens were shut-down in the tourney’s opening round, blanked by Providence 2-0 Thursday night at Providence.

The Friars’ Brendan Reardon scored just over seven minutes into the game to put Providence on top.  His teammate Julian Gressel found the net in the 71st minute put the game away.

Delaware finishes the season at 12-8-1.

Providence advances to face top-ranked Maryland in round two Sunday afternoon.

The UD field hockey team hopes for a better fate Friday afternoon.

The 8th ranked Blue Hens face 14th ranked Princeton in the NCAA Division I semifinals.

UD carries a team-record 17 game win streak into its first Final Four appearance since 1982. That win streak is also the longest current win streak in Division I
