Wesley College football earns another trip to NCAA tournament

Wesley College is headed back to NCAA Division III football playoffs.

The Wolverines climbed out of a 14-0 first quarter hole to beat William Patterson 59-14 Saturday, clinching the New Jersey Athletic Conference title and the NCAA playoff bid that comes with it.

It’s the 12th straight year Wesley has earned a spot on the NCAA tourney.

Nick Falkenberg threw for 285 yards and a career-high five touchdown passes to lead the Wolverines to victory.  

Wesley will learn who and where they’ll play in the NCAA tournament’s first round Sunday at 6pm.

In other local college football action Saturday:

UD lost at Richmond 31-17 – falling to 4-6.

And Delaware State remains winless – 0-10 – following a 45-14 loss to North Carolina A&T.
