Wolverines stumble in 2016 opener

A disappointing start to 2106 season for the Wesley College football team.

The Wolverines, ranked 7th in Division III, fell at home to #25 Delaware Valley at Drass Field in Dover.

It’s Wesley first season opening loss since 2008 and the first time the Wolverines have opened the season with a home loss since 2003.

The Wolverines were their own worst enemy.  They turned the ball over 5 times, four coming on interceptions thrown by quarterbacks Nick Falkenberg and Dan Kesack as they seek to fill the shoes of All-American Joe Callahan – who is currently in the NFL trying to earn a spot on the Green Bay Packers’ roster.

Wesley also committed 12 penalties for 102 yards.

The Wolverines look to rebound next week when they host NJAC rival Frostburg State.
