Dover’s Madison Brengle’s run at the Australian Open ended Friday night.

The 25-year-old Brengle lost in the third round to 7th seed Angelique Kerber of Germany, falling in straight sets 6-1, 6-3.

Brengle – currently ranked 49th in the world – advanced to the fourth round at the Australian Open last year before losing. She also reached the third round of the U.S. Open last fall.
