Dover’s Madison Brengle advanced at the Australian Open overnight.

The 25-year-old Brengle defeated Sweden’s Johanna Larsson in round two of the year’s first tennis Grand Slam event – winning in three sets 7-5, 4-6, 6-1.

Brengle – currently ranked 49th in the world – is headed to the Australian Open’s third round for a second straight year. She’ll face 7th seed Angelique Kerber of Germany, advanced with a straight sets win overnight.

She advanced to the fourth round last year before losing.
