The final concert of the Delaware Symphony Orchestra’s (DSO) 2018-2019 Chamber Series is less than a week away.";

The Delaware Symphony Orchestra (DSO) plays its final Chamber Series concert of the season next week in Wilmington.

The symphony’s executive director Alan Jordan calls the concert “a very fun and interesting program,” featuring the DSO’s 34-piece Chamber Orchestra, “I think in my three-and-a-half-years here, it’s the largest Ensemble we’ll have presented as part of the Chamber Series.”

Next Tuesday’s performance (April 16, 2019) at Wilmington’s Hotel du Pont, will feature a chamber orchestra of 34 DSO players, conducted by David Amado, “which is what is needed for the piece on the second half. Mozart’s Penultimate Symphony - the Symphony No. 40 in G Minor. It’s one of his most famous and popular Symphony’s,” Jordan said.

The performance will also feature works of American composer Aaron Copland, Bela Bartok - a Hungarian composer.

Jordan says the concert will be in memory of Dorothy Chamber Flynn, a former Delaware Symphony development director.

Tickets for the April 16 concert are $62 ($16 for students 21 and under, with ID) and may be ordered online atwww.delawaresymphony.org, or by calling the Delaware Symphony office at 302-656-7442.
