The Serafins to perform holiday concert at Milton Theatre Thursday

The Milton Theatre hosts The Serafins ensemble for a special holiday concert this week.

The Serafin Ensemble The Serafinsvisit Milton this week for a holiday concert.

Amos Fayette is the Music School of Delaware’s Milford branch director.   He’s also performs with the The Serafins, playing violin.

He says this concert will have a nice mixture of  “classical pops.”

“Music such as Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride, as well as some really wonderful classical selections as well. The two sort of meat and potatoes pieces on the program would be the two movements from Beethoven’s String Quartet - Op. 18, No. 4 and then a piece that is actually new to me - the Dvorak Terzetto,” said Fayette.

Fayette notes the concert has other elements he expects will put the audience in a holiday mood.

"There will be some vocal selections sung by Gus Mercante, as well as a really wonderful String Quartet arrangement of Vivaldi’s Winter, from The Four Seasons - so very much appropriate for the season as it were.”

Serafin Ensemble, “The Serafins,” is a group of performing artists (string, wind, piano and vocalists) devoted to collaborative chamber music performances.

Tickets for the concert are available here. Ticket prices range from $18 to $23. The concert starts at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m.
