Some youth and adult recreational sports tournaments in Delaware can start up again — and hair salons can soon double the number of people allowed inside.
Gov. John Carney updated his coronavirus emergency order Friday to allow for these interim steps amid Phase 2 of Delaware's reopening.
Tournaments for sports considered high-risk— football, wrestling, rugby, and hockey — are still not allowed.
Tournaments that can resume need prior approval of a safety plan by the Division of Public Health. The plan must include a method of collecting contact info for players, staff and spectators. This change is effective Saturday morning.
Personal care services, like barber shops, tattoo parlors and nail salons, can increase their capacity from thirty to sixty percent of fire occupancy requirements starting Monday.
Also effective that day, parks will no longer have to consider closing areas where social distancing can’t be maintained, like basketball courts and playgrounds.
