DSU's Tony Allen tapped to lead Biden's Inaugural committee

Delaware State University

President-elect Joe Biden has tapped Delaware State University President Tony Allen to lead his inaugural committee.

Allen says this inauguration will look a lot different than previous ones.

“We will honor the American inaugural traditions and engage Americans across the country while keeping everybody healthy and safe,” said Allen in a statement.

Allen worked as then U.S. Senator Biden’s speechwriter and assistant in the late 1990’s and have kept in touch since.

The inaugural ceremonies usually mean dinners, balls, and live concerts, all things that would be dangerous to hold amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Three others were also picked for the committee, including campaign advisors and supporters.

More details are expected to be revealed about the inauguration in the coming weeks.
