Fenwick Island elects four new councilmembers

Challengers carried the day in Fenwick Island’s municipal election Saturday.

Four incumbents and four newcomers were vying for four seats on Town Council.

Newcomer Natalie Magdeburger was the top vote getter with 377 votes, followed by fellow newcomers Janice Bortner - the only non-resident property owner, Jaqueline Kay Napolitano and Paul Breger.  They all received over 340 votes.

None of four incumbents managed to receive more than 300 votes including Mayor Gene Langan (252) and Vice Mayor Richard Mais. Councilmembers Mike Houser (274) and Bill Weistling were also ousted (294).

Each seat is for a two-year term that expires in 2023.
