Carney comes up big in fundraising fight

Congressman John Carney (D) has raised more than $1.3 million in his bid for governor, vastly outmatching his opponents.

After collecting nearly $450,000 over the course of a few months last year, Carney tacked on about $900,000 more since the beginning of the year.

That leaves his three opponents combined in the dust. He’s outraised them as a group more than 30 times over.

Republican Colin Bonini netted about another $42,000 over the past month with $83,000 left to spend.

Libertarian Sean Goward took in a little more than $1,100, while Green Party candidate Andrew Groff hasn’t even formed a committee.

Carney’s campaign has about $900,000 left to spend if he needs it, with less than a month to go before Election Day.

Voters head to the polls Nov. 8.
