The US House of Representatives Thursday unanimously passed a resolution honoring the life of Beau Biden.

Representative John Carney introduced the resolution, and in his comments on the House Floor, he spoke warmly of Beau Biden, his career as a two term state attorney general and his love for family.

"He leaves a legacy that calls on each of us to be more gentle in our judgments and more gracious with our thanks. Beau was one of the best of the good guys," he said.

Representative Carney said his home state of Delaware and the rest of the US are mourning the loss of Beau Biden.

Speaking on the House floor, Delaware's lone congressman spoke of the tragic car accident the Biden family experienced when Beau was just three years old.

He said that as Delawareans are grieving, the Biden family, who know tragedy firsthand, can help others move forward through their example of resilience.

"They have shown us the courage to believe that there is something more enduring than grief. Love endures. Beau and his family through their love for each other, have shown us that," said Representative Carney.

Carney concluded his remarks by saying, “Until we meet again Beau, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.”
