First State reports new COVID-19 deaths

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

The state reports two more COVID-19 related deaths this week.

That lifts the total number since the pandemic began to 595.

The current number of hospitalizations in Delaware is also rising again,  back up to 40 after hovering closer to 30 for a few days. 10 patients are currently considered critically ill.

The state’s trending COVID metrics remain low. The average new positive cases are just under 67 per day and the percent of people testing positive is at 4.3%.

To date 16,718 people have tested positive for the virus in the First State.

Just under half of the positive cases in Delaware have been documented as having recovered from the virus.
