Commuters using the Delaware Memorial Bridge to enter the First State from New Jersey will find major delays over the next few days.
The Delaware River and Bay Authority – which operates the bridge – has closed three of the four lanes on the Delaware-bound span for emergency work.
Construction crews are replacing three suspension ropes in close proximity to each other on that span.
DRBA officials note motorists may not be able to see the work being done at times – but assures that is being completed as quickly as possible.
During the closures, the speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph.
