A new collaboration is combining academics with music this summer.
The Serviam Girls Academy and The Choir School of Delaware co-host their in-person summer camp June 28 through July 31.
“We’ll be serving students - rising 5th graders through 12th graders this summer," said Choir School director of education Brittney Stanton. "And the whole program is a full day of academic enrichment and music. And we are even more excited that this will be the first year that we will be putting on a summer musical.”
Stanton says that musical will be Sister Act.
She says the camp gives students a chance to work with some of Delaware’s most accomplished musicians, theater directors and choreographers. Final auditions for the musical are thisSunday from noon until 5 p.m.
The camp also offers PSAT and SAT Prep. along with field trips, swimming, arts and crafts and games.
Stanton says Serviam Academy will provide academic enrichment during the five-week camp while The Choir School handles choral and musical theater training.
The camp’s application deadline is June 21, 2021. The cost is $400 per camper.
