The University of Delaware enacts new COVID-19 protocols for those who attend events at the university later this week.
Starting this Friday, September 10, UD will require all outside visitors to University of Delaware events to provide proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test for COVID-19.
The policy applies to those12 and older.
The PCR test has to be taken within 72 hours of the event and at-home test results will not be accepted.
Full vaccination means the final vaccine dose was taken at least 14 days prior to the event.
A paper copy or electronic copy of vaccination or test results can be used, and adults must also provide legal identification matching the name on the card or test results.
Children under 12 must wear a mask at all times, and if it’s an indoor event everyone must wear a mask no matter their vaccination status while maintaining a safe social distance.
As of this week, UD has seen a total of 93 positive cases between employees and students since August 25. And since August 125, the school has documented 95% of its students vaccination status - with 91% students fully vaccinated.
As of September 2, 79% employees are fully vaccinated with 88% of employees on campus during the prior 7 days being fully vaccinated.
