Sussex County Economic Development offering SizeUp to local businesses

The Sussex County Economic Development Office is serving up a new tool to help small businesses grow in Sussex.

A new tool to help small businesses in Sussex County grow is now available.

The tool is offered by SizeUp - an internet-based research company that offers fintech (Financial Technology) services.

"SizeUp is a digital research software program that provides specific market information to empower business owners in their decision-making process,” said Sussex County Economic Development Director Bill Pfaff.

Pfaff says SizeUp is free and businesses can access it through the county’s Economic Development website - ExciteSussex.com.

He says such a service is greatly needed in Sussex, “I think as good stewards for Sussex County, we felt that the software would give our business community an edge-up from the standpoint of understanding how to make decisions.”

Pfaff says in an effort to reach as wide an audience as possible, a link to the services will also be offered to all local municipalities in Sussex County.

He says there are 25 municipalities in Sussex County and each one is unique.

"So what this does - for any business that is looking to expand in any of our towns - or any individual that is looking to start up a business in a specific town, it actually gives them specific information, anywhere from benchmarking the business, to mapping the competition, to understanding where their suppliers are,” said Pfaff.

Pfaff says SizeUp also determines how large the market is and what people are spending in any given market -  valuable information for a business owner.
