DART’s annual “Stuff the Bus” Thanksgiving Food Drive brought in 10.2 tons or 20,463 pounds of food this year.
The week-long food drive took place from November 5th to November 10th at various spots across the state, including two new locations at the Dover Safeway and the ShopRite at Christina Crossing Shopping Center in Wilmington.
Donations came from the general public, as well as businesses, schools, organizations, and state agencies throughout the First State and filled two 30-foot buses with non-perishable food.
The Food Bank of Delaware will now distribute the donated food through its Hunger Relief Partners to Delaware residents in need of food assistance.
