Rehoboth Art League presents "Salon" from Lewes artist G.W. Thompson

The Rehoboth Art League (RAL) hosts monthly gatherings called “Salons,” which brings people into area artists private homes.

This month’s “Salon” is on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the waterfront home of artist G.W. Thompson.

Thompson says he uses acrylics, oils, patels, charcoal and inks to create his abstract paintings.

And he says at next week’s event, he’ll show some of his previous work, as well as some new environmentally-themed pieces he’s doing, "I’ve got a current series out that is based on the idea of green-washing where, you know we’re doing all these things to make the environment better, but they’re really not having that big of an effect on changing the problem. I’ve taken the waste plastic that I produce here in the studio and actually utilized that as material in the paintings.”

Next week’s Rehoboth Art League “Salon” runs from 6 until 8 p.m.

More information about "Salons" is here and tickets are available here.

A studio tour will compiment the evening's discussion about the artistic process and light refreshments will be served.
