Half billion dollar Powerball jackpot up for grabs

Lottery players are hoping there’s a little luck of the Irish left over from St. Patrick’s Day.

The jackpot for Wednesday’s Powerball drawing is over a half billion dollars.

No one matched all six numbers in Powerball's Saturday drawing, pushing its top prize to $550 million.

There hasn’t been a winner since December 26th, creating the 11th largest jackpot in U.S. history, and the biggest since winners in Iowa and New York split a nearly $688 million prize last October.

That came just days after a single ticket in South Carolina won a $1.5 billion Mega Millions jackpot.

The last time the First State produced a Powerball jackpot winner was December 2016 when a winning ticket worth nearly $122 million was sold at a Selbyville-area gas station.

The state has never had a MegaMillions winner.
