Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library and the Choir School of Delaware are launching a new partnership.
The Choir School is Winterthur’s Artists-in-Residence for the winter 2020 and spring 2021 seasons.
The Choir School’s director of education Brittney Stanton says their first - mostly hybrid concert - is Sunday, December 13, 2020.
“The Choir in its fullness will be presented virtually and then there will be a few in-person singers to add to the merry-making - some small groups singing during that time," said Stanton. "It’s a beautiful concert, with pieces that represent various holidays throughout the season.”
Stanton says the name of the concert is “Sounds of the Season” with “A Dickens Christmas” by Stephen McNeff as its core piece.
Performances will be at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m, and 4 p..m* (virtual).
The Choir School’s director of music and operations Arreon Harley-Emerson says COVID-19 protocols will be in place.
“We have been very, very meticulous in our planning," said harkey-Emerson. "And our partners at Winterthur are always very careful and meticulous and thoughtful about their planning as well. And so we have created an experience that will meet everyone’s comfort level.”

A second concert series at Winterthur is slated for next April 25, 2021 at 4 p.m. It’s called Fables, Folklore & Fairytales.
