Republican candidate drops out of Delaware U.S. Senate race

Delaware Public Media

Chuck Boyce announced Thursday he is suspending his campaign.

The Delaware business owner cites health issues as the reason. In an email he said he is very grateful to his support base, and is disappointed he won't be able to see the campaign through to November.

He was set to face Wilmington banker Gene Truono in a Republican primary election.

Incumbent Senator Tom Carper will square off with activist Kerri Harris for the Democratic nomination.
