The Brandywine Zoo has moved their animal careers lecture series online this year.
The zoo’s animal career series is typically an all-day event at the facility, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year it is being held online.
The seminars are meant for any age group interested in working with animals as a career or a hobby, and although they won’t be in person, the virtual format offers some benefits.
Marketing and special events manager Jennifer Lynch says, “Now you would be able to purchase the seminar but watch it on your own time. And you would still get the speakers’ information and can ask them questions and then also see what other people have asked so it’s not like you’re missing out.”
People from a wide variety of professions are featured in the series, including zookeepers, veterinarians and researchers. Each session is $8 and can be purchased on the zoo website.
The next session is scheduled for January 3, 2021, but recordings of the previous sessions can also be purchased.
Admission to the Brandywine Zoo is currently free.
