The Blue Rocks are gearing up for their return to the diamond after the 2020 season was canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic.
And when their 2021 season opens next month, they’ll start the season with limited capacity at Frawley Stadium.
The team announced Thursday it is approved to have 25% capacity to start. That translates to 1,600 fans at the stadium, which holds 6,400 people.
The Rocks say they will prioritize season ticket holders first – then make remaining seats available to those seeking individual game tickets. And they be making tickets available on a monthly basis.
Tickets for games in May, including the season opener May 4th against Aberdeen, will go one sale April 19th.
The Rocks last played in September 2019 when they won their 5th Carolina League title.
Since them, they have become an affiliate of the Washington Nationals and been part of reorganization of Minor League Baseball that put them in a new 12-team High-A league, joining Phillies, Orioles, Mets and Yankees affiliates in the league’s Northern Division.
