Firefly announces shorter 2019 festival

Fans of the annual Firefly Music Festival will have a little less time to enjoy the event in 2019.

Organizers have announced next year’s festival dates.  It will run three days, June 21- 23, at the Woodlands in Dover.

The three-day schedule is a day shorter than recent years, eliminating the Thursday slate of acts and returning to the schedule used in Firefly’s first two years, 2012 and 2013.

Firefly organizers are calling it a “streamlined schedule” and promise the event’s 8th year in Dover will offer more artists while making it easier for fans to attend.

Organizers say all campers will be allowed early entry starting on Thursday, June 20 and can depart on Monday, June 24.

A new Firefly Loyalty Program is also being added.  Anyone who previously purchased or registered a wristband for Firefly will get an email code giving them access to a Firefly VIP and general admission presale Friday, Nov. 16,  as well as other perks to come.

This year’s Firefly line-up and other new festival ground features will be announced later.
