Blue Rocks playoff contest postponed by rain

The Blue Rocks’ quest to reach the Mills Cup Carolina League Championship series was put on hold Thursday night.

Game two of the Rocks’ best of three Northern Division Championship series with Lynchburg was postponed by rain at Frawley Stadium. They’ll try again tonight at 7:05 in Wilmington.

The Blue Rocks topped the Hillcats 6-1 in series opener Wednesday night in Lynchburg.

A win Friday night sends the Blue Rocks to the Mills Cup Carolina League title series for the first time since 2004 against the winner of Southern Division Championship Series.

A loss forces a third and decisive game with Lynchburg at Frawley Stadium Saturday night

The Blue Rocks haven’t won the Mills Cup since 1999.

The Southern Division final between Myrtle Beach and Winston-Salem is tied at one after Myrtle Beach took Game 2 Thursday night 4-3.  The third and decisive game of that series is Friday night at Myrtle Beach.
