Delmarva Power extends COVID-19 customer support efforts

Delaware Public Media
Delmarva Power plans to continue its efforts to ease the burden on people affected by the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Delmarva Power is extending its COVID-19 customer support efforts.

President Trump’s national emergency declaration and the State of Emergency order from Gov. Carney initially prompted Delmarva Power to find ways to offer its customers relief last month.

“Originally announced in March these policies include suspending service disconnections, waiving new late fees and reconnecting customers whose service may have been disconnected prior to the pandemic,” said Delmarva Power spokesman Tim Stokes.

He says those measures will remain now through at least June 1, 2020.

Stokes notes the utility also has several programs to help customers manage their energy costs, save money and keep the lights on.

They include the Low-income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), the Good Neighbor Energy Fund and the Electric Universal Service Program (EUSP).

Customers in need of assistance can call Delmarva Customer Service at 1-800-375-7117.
