The Cape May-Lewes Ferry is gearing up for the summer season.
Additional customers means a need for additional staff.
And the Delaware River and Bay Authority talent acquisition manager Darryl Anderson says its hiring that seasonal staff now.
"Every year the Delaware River and Bay Authority, which manages the Cape May-Lewes Ferry, has a need for casual workers - folks who may be interested in part-time roles and opportunities - to help manage our food and hospitality efforts in the two restaurants that we have at either end of the Ferry, as well as on the boats,” Anderson said.
During the busy summer season, the Cape May-Lewes Ferry hires more than 450 casual employees. To find those workers, Anderson says DRBA is holding three job fairs in the coming weeks.
“We are actually going to do a fair at the Cape May terminal on March 16; a fair at the Lewes terminal on March 23 and then on April 13, we’re going to have a simultaneous fair going on at both locations,” said Anderson.
Anderson says qualified applicants are needed in various departments, including customer service, food and retail and maintenance.
He adds 95% of the jobs are part-time positions.
Anderson says all three job fairs run from 9 to 11 a.m.
