Riverfront Development Corp. names interim Executive Director as Purzycki runs for mayor

Delaware Public Media

Riverfront Development Corporation of Delaware Executive Director Michael Purzycki is walking away from the job - for the time being.

Purzycki is taking a leave of absence to focus on running mayor of Wilmington full-time.

He’s one of seven Democrats challenging incumbent Dennis Williams in September’s Democratic primary.

Megan McGlinchey will take over as acting executive director effective June 1st.

McGlinchey joined the RDC in 1997, and has been its Deputy Director since January 2014.

As Deputy Director, McGlinchey has overseen the day-to-day operations of the Chase Center, the Delaware Children’s Museum, and the DuPont Environmental Education Center and other pieces of the Wilmington Riverfront.

The Wilmington native has a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Delaware and is chair of both the Governor’s Tourism Advisory Board and the Delaware Zoological Society.
