Coronavirus in Delaware: Where we stand now

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

As the outbreak of the new coronavirus evolves nationwide and in Delaware, we’ve been checking in with a global health expert out of Delaware State University who studied the 2014 ebola outbreak and other epidemics.

Delaware Public Media’s Sophia Schmidt talks with Chair of DSU’s Department of History, Political Science, and Philosophy Donna Patterson about how the outbreak of the virus is shaping up in the First State.

Sophia Schmidt is a Delaware native. She comes to Delaware Public Media from NPR’s Weekend Edition in Washington, DC, where she produced arts, politics, science and culture interviews. She previously wrote about education and environment for The Berkshire Eagle in Pittsfield, MA. She graduated from Williams College, where she studied environmental policy and biology, and covered environmental events and local renewable energy for the college paper.
