Drive-thru flu clinic in Dover Thursday

Tom Byrne/Delaware Public Media

You won’t even have to get out of your car if you want a flu shot this year.

Delaware’s Division of Public Health is offering a free drive-thru flu clinic this Thursday at the Blue Hen Corporate Centerin Dover.

There will be multiple lanes, including a fast lane for cars with fewer people.

“We also have what's called a blue lane. That’s for anything that would involve more time. Examples are a high occupancy vehicle like a van or a truck with 6-10 people,” said Wayne Smith, deputy county health administrator for Kent and Sussex Counties.

Anyone over the age of 13 is eligible for a free shot, regardless of income or whether or not you have insurance.

Beware, the clinic is only offering shots. The Centers for Disease Control is no longer recommending the nasal flu mist.

The drive-thru clinic runs from 10:00 to 4:00.

Smith says you can speed up your visit by completing a vaccination form ahead of time.

You can find that form HERE.
