Delaware Institute for the Arts in Education brings back "Spotlight"

The Delaware Institute for the Arts in Education (DiAE) is bringing back its signature event this week.

Spotlight - an Evening of the Arts is this Friday and will be livestreamed from The Delaware Contemporary.

“We have a wonderful evening planned. It’s going to be hosted by Ashley SK Davis, our artistic director and Chris Bruce of King Creative (in Wilmington)," said the institute’s executive director Nanci Hersh. "Our Spotlight honoree is the wonderful and amazing Senator Sarah McBride.

Hersh says the organization's professional teaching artists will give viewers in an opportunity to see what they so.

We are going to be featuring six of teaching artists who are professional artists in music, dance, drama, spoken word and visual arts," said Hersh. "And they are going to be showing you what they do as professional artists and what they do engaging students in the classroom.”

She notes the audience will be asked to participate from the comfort of their own homes.

The event is free but you must register to access the livestream.

Delaware Public Media' s arts coverage is made possible, in part, by support from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
