Field for New Castle County Council president grows to 3
David Roberts, a longtime county employee, is seeking the Democratic Party nomination for New Castle County Council president.
Roberts served as the former county Chief of Emergency Communications and worked in the public safety department for 37 years.
During that time, he helped modernize the county’s 911 emergency division and served as his department’s head, which oversees New Castle County police, paramedics and emergency management personnel.
He says he will focus on creating jobs, ensuring public safety and ‘restoring transparency and integrity’ to the county.
Roberts joins two others – Karen Hartley-Nagel and current county councilman Penrose Hollins – in seeking to replace outgoing president Christopher Bullock.
