Former Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden is hospitalized with an unknown condition at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Vice President Joe Biden’s office confirmed the report to USA Today, but would not disclose his oldest son's condition. Calls from Delaware Public Media to Biden staff members were not immediately returned.

Beau Biden has had other health scares in the past.

In 2013, he was taken to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas to remove a small lesion from his brain.

Since returning to serve out the remainder of his second term as attorney general, he rarely spoke to the press or made public appearances, but claimed to have “a clean bill of health”.

In April of 2014, Biden announced he would not to seek a third term as AG, saying instead he would pursue a run for governor.

He also suffered a “mild stroke” in 2010 during his first term as attorney general.
