Plummeting temps cause schools to delay opening Thursday

Delaware Public Media

Thursday’s anticipated frigid temperatures are prompting some schools to delay opening.

In New Castle County, the Appoquinimink, Brandywine, and Red Clay School Districts will all open two hours late Thursday morning. The Christina and Colonial School Districts are closed with offices opening 2 hours late.

In Central Delaware, Caesar Rodney, Capital, Lake Forest, Milford, Polytech, Smyrna and Woodbridge School are opening two hours late.

And in Sussex County, it will be a two hour delayed opening for the Cape Henlopen, Indian River, Laurel, Seaford, and Sussex Tech School Districts.

Delaware State University has also announced all of its campus locations - including its main campus in Dover - will open 2 hours late Thursday.
