Four suspected heroin overdoses kill three people in NCCo County

Three more people have died from apparent heroin overdoses in Delaware, according to New Castle County Police.

New Castle County Police are currently investigating four suspected heroin overdoses, 3 of which were fatal.

 

Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday, County Police responded to three separate incidents where a person died and evidence of heroin use was recovered.

Police also responded to one overdose where NARCAN was used to save a person.

Police say the incidents happened in the Bear, Brandywine and Claymont areas.

The cause of death for each person has not officially been determined yet by the Delaware Division of Forensic Science.

11 people died in Delaware from drug overdoses during the long Thanksgiving weekend. Eight of the deaths were in New Castle County and another three died in Kent and Sussex Counties. All of the people who died were between the ages of 23 and 62.

The latest overdoses bring Delaware’s total to 218 for the year, according to the Department of Health and Social Services.
