Driving warning ends as nor'easter moves through

Most of the First State is seeing rain as the nor’easter moves across Delaware – but in NCCo a windy mix of rain, sleet, freezing rain and snow is making for a miserable day.

Snow and sleet accumulations in northern New Castle County range between 2 and half inches in Glasgow to just over 4 inches in Claymont, Greenville and Hockessin.

New Castle County had been under a Level 1 driving warning issued by Gov. John Carney at midnight.  That warning was lifted at noon.

The weather has closed state and county offices in New Castle County - along with City of Newark and City of Wilmington offices.

School districts also closed – along with the University of Delaware’s main campus in Newark and Delaware Tech’s Wilmington and Stanton campuses.

Delmarva Power reports about 29,000 customers are without power as of 2 pm – the result of various outages.  That number peaked at just over 33,000 around midday.
