It’s another down week for Delaware gas prices.
AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average price for a gallon of regular dropped a nickel over the past seven days, closing at $1.74.
That’s 30 cents cheaper that what First State drivers were paying a year ago.
It’s also cheaper than the U.S. average. Nationwide, prices at the pump ring in at $1.79 this week.
Delawaregasprices.com reports Newark and New Castle are dueling it out for the cheapest gas in the state – both selling a gallon of regular for $1.61.
Otherwise, a handful of stations in New Castle and Sussex Counties are advertising prices at $1.65 or cheaper.
Crude oil began to rebound after a steep decline since the beginning of the year to $33.62 a barrel, signaling a possible resurgence as warmer weather moves in.
