After a brief spike last week, Delaware gas prices are one their way back down again.
AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average price for a gallon of regular shed four cents over the past seven days – closing the week at $2.15.
At this same time last year, drivers were paying about $2.85 a gallon.
Nationwide, prices have also dropped by a nickel to ring in at $2.17.
Delawaregasprices.com reports two stations – one in Dover and another in Laurel – selling a gallon of regular for $1.99. Otherwise, most of the cheapest gas is in Kent and New Castle Counties at $2.07 or less.
This week, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported a huge cache of crude oil – four times more than market expectations according to AAA.
That news led the liquid commodity to close down more than $3.50 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange by week’s end.
