Schools and gov't offices close as snowstorm approaches

The snowstorm expected to descend on the First State this morning has schools across the telling students to stay home Thursday.

In New Castle County, Appoquinimink, Brandywine, Christina, Colonial, New Castle Vo-Tech and Red Clay schools districts are all closed.

In Central Delaware, Caesar Rodney, Capital, Lake Forest, Milford, Polytech, Smyrna and Woodbridge are closed

In Sussex County, Cape Henlopen, Delmar, Indian River, Laurel, Seaford, and Sussex Tech School district are closed today.

Delaware State is closing all of its campuses in the state including its main campus in Dover. Wesley College is also closed.

The University of Delaware is closed, classes canceled.

Delaware Tech’s Dover, Georgetown and Stanton/Wilmington campuses are all closed.

Goldey-Beacom College day classes cancelled.  A decision on evening classes will come later.

State of Delaware offices are closed. New Castle County and Sussex County offices are closed. City offices in Wilmington and Newark offices are closed. New Castle, Kent and Sussex County courthouses are closed.

Kent County offices are opening on time, but liberal leave policy is in effect for Employees.  City of Dover offices will open time, but city officials hours may change later.
