Wilmington's DECO Food Hall reopens Monday

A multi-vendor food hall in Wilmington closed by the COVID-19 pandemic is ready to return this week.

The DECO Food Hall in the historic DuPont Building features vendors selling everything from pastries to chicken and waffles, pizza and Indian street food.

Rich Snyder is the director of food and beverage for the Buccini/Pollin Group, which developed the Food Hall.

“Our hope with relaunching DECO is - it has been 5 or 6 months - I don’t think that there’s ever a perfect time, especially as this - the pandemic of COVID marches on," said Snyder. "But I do think there is a point that after the summer, Wilmington is - well we hope - is getting back on its feet and people are coming back into the offices.”

Snyder says the exciting thing about Monday’s reopening is the Food Hall now offers a mobile ordering service called DECO On The Go.

He says the service will deliver within a 10-mile radius of DECO and use Grubhub, DoorDash and Uber Eats.

On site, DECO cannot exceed 60-percent capacity, per Delaware’s social distancing guidelines. Masks must be worn when not seated and guests should stay at their table unless getting an order or using the restroom.

Outdoor seating is also available when weather permits.
