Wesley College ousted from NCAA football playoffs

Wesley College’s 2019 football season is over.

The Wolverines fall in round two of the NCAA Division III playoff, trounced by Delaware Valley 45-10 in Dover.

Turnovers were Wesley’s undoing. Quarterback Drew Fry threw 3 of the Wolverines’ four interceptions.  Wesley also lost a pair of fumbles.

The Wolverines also hurt themselves with penalties, committing 12 for 182 yards.

The game was a far cry from the two teams’ meeting back in September; a defensive struggle won by Wesley 24-18 road victory in four overtimes.

The 10th ranked Wolverines finish their season with a 10-2 record.

Delaware Valley improves to 11-1. The 9th ranked Aggies with face #5 North Central with upended top-ranked Mount Union Saturday in a 59-52 shoot-out.
