Delaware beaches promote off-season tourism
The 2017 summer season is over, but there’s still plenty of things to attract people to area beaches.
Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Carol Everhart says she’s finding that, if weather is good, people keep coming.
"They have a second home here now, so they're coming down on Thursday night and staying until Sunday, or coming down on Friday and staying until Monday. And that's year-round now," said Everhart.
Everhart says fall events that draw tourists include True Blue Jazz - the Jazz Festival and the annual Sea Witch Festival.
And she says events go right into the winter, highlighted by the annual Christmas tree lighting in November.
"We’re just a very active community,” said Everhart.
