DSU women lose in MEAC tourney first round

Delaware State Univ.

Delaware State University didn’t last long at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) women’s basketball tournament in Norfolk, Virginia.

The Lady Hornets were ousted in the opening round, falling to Florida A&M 79-74.

DSU got a game-high 21 points and 14 rebounds from MEAC Rookie of the Year Najai Pollard, but it was not enough to advance.  It’s the third straight year the Lady Hornets have been knocked out of the league tourney in round one.

Del State finishes its season with a 9-21 record.

DSU’s men also lost in the opening round of the MEAC tourney, suffering a 63-58 season-ending setback again Savannah State.  The Hornets end the year with a 7-25 record.
