March Madness gets underway for one First State college hoop team Friday night.
The University of Delaware plays in round one of the Colonial Athletic Association men’s basketball tournament.
The Blue Hens, the tourney’s 10th seed, face seven seen College of Charleston at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore.
UD looks to turn the page on a lackluster regular season. The Hens lost four of their last five to finish at 7-22 overall and 2-16 in league play. But that one win down the stretch was against College of Charleston – a 62-59 win in Newark in February 18th.
College of Charleston went 16-13 during the regular season, including an 8-10 CAA record.
Tip-off in Baltimore is scheduled for 8:30 tonight. The winner faces the tourney’s second seed North Carolina-Wilmington in the CAA quarterfinals Saturday.
