Southern Delaware Tourism, Sussex County Economic Development collaborate on visitors guide

New Visitors Guide (Submitted Photo)
Southern Delaware Tourism and Sussex County Economic Development both want people to know what makes Sussex County an attractive destination.

Southern Delaware Tourism and Sussex County Economic Development joined forces to get the word out about what Sussex County has to offer.

The two groups collaborated on a new visitors guide.

Southern Delaware Tourism’s Executive Director Scott Thomas calls the collaboration a “great match.”

“Our visitor guide, which is kind of a sense of place and kind of a visitation guide around Sussex County - and throughout the years and periodically, there has been more and more inquiries about this is great visitor information but sometimes people are looking for more information as far as re-location or information about the business climate of Sussex County,” Thomas said.

Thomas says it just makes sense to offer information to both visitors and entrepreneurs in the same guide because the two groups often overlap.

He says the guide offers a wealth of information.

"Our visitor guide highlights what makes Sussex County such a special place - our outdoor adventure go-tos - and then with the insert from Sussex County Economic Development, you have things like business incentives such as economic development zones, opportunity hub zones and downtown development districts,” said Thomas.

Sussex County Economic Development director Bill Pfaff notes the Economic Development Guide included in the visitors guide is an open invitation to take a look at the business, manufacturing and tech side of Sussex County.

Thomas says you can log on to to download a free PDF file of the guide or have one mailed to you.
