Elena Delle Donne may be playing basketball in Chicago these days– but the WNBA rookie's latest endorsement Delaware has its roots in the First State.
DuPont announced Wednesday it has signed an endorsement deal with the former Ursuline Academy and UD hoop star.
The deal will center on products associated the company’s Nutrition and Health business, specifically on DuPont’s efforts to develop better ways to feed populations in both developed and developing nations.
“This is a great match for DuPont and particularly the Nutrition & Health business which focuses on delivering food ingredients that are packed with nutrition, improving health and providing great taste,” said DuPont Nutrition & Health president Craig F. Binetti in a statement. “We’re eager to work with Elena to bring attention to the importance of good nutrition as a gateway to good health
DuPont officials say they’ll spend the remainder of the year developing a strategy to use Delle Donne’s endorsement and roll out a three year campaign early next year.
“While DuPont is a global company, they’re headquartered in Wilmington, Del. That’s my hometown, which makes this association especially meaningful to me," said Delle Donne in her own statement. "I am really looking forward to partnering with DuPont to bring attention to topics I care about so much.”
The endorsement deal is Delle Donne’s third. The Chicago Sky star has also signed with Nike and Genesis Today, a natural nutritional supplements company.
