Sussex County launches 'Keep Sussex Strong' campaign

Jun 7, 2020

Sussex County recently launched a campaign to encourage residents to “buy locally.”

The name of the new campaign is “Keep Sussex Strong,”

“The County Council determined that during this coronavirus there was a need to really support the local business community. And having the discussion we decided to direct our energy into a “locals buying locally” campaign," said Bill Pfaff, the director of the Sussex County Economic Development Office. "It’s really going to help to remind individuals that the fabric of their communities is very important and to maintain that fabric, they need to get out and support their local businesses.”

Pfaff says his office partnered with Southern Delaware Tourism on the project.

He says the Sussex County Economic Development Office funded the campaign. It includes three 30-second television ads that feature business owners from around the county, including Milton, Delmar, Greenwood and Rehoboth Beach - just to name a few.

Pfaff says the timing of this campaign is critical as businesses start to reopen after being shuttered for many, many weeks.
